Keno

Game Play

keno_enPlayers wager by marking their selections on a blank keno ticket form with 80 numbered selection boxes (1 to 80). After all players successfully place their wagers, the casino draws 20 balls (numbers) at random, from a pot of 80. The more numbers a player has picked correctly the higher his final win will be. The winning amount depends upon how many numbers a player has picked correctly, the total wagering amount, and the positioning of the numbers. Generally speaking the odds of winning are higher than at the lottery.

Rules

Keno is offered daily, so players do not wait for the weekend to enjoy playing. A Keno ticket has a block of 70 to 80 numbers, depending on the provider. Players have the option to mark between 2 and 10 numbers, at the drawing a total of 20 numbers are picked. Players who picked fewer numbers now have a higher possibility that they numbers were picked, the more numbers a player has selected the lower his chances of getting all of the right, and hence the lower the final win.
A player can choose the amount he wants to bet on each number, usually wagers are tired (1,2,5 or $10, etc). The exact amount of the win depends on what game version is being played, but possible yields can be predetermined before each game commences, only exception, if multiple players have picked the same numbers. As a general rule in these types of cases, the maximum win is divided among the winners, and a multiple of for instance 5 or 10 is applied. Another special rule states that players, who have picked 9 or 10 numbers of which none was drawn, are entitled to a monetary prize.
Some providers have added an additional lottery, where 5 numbers are draws and compared to the lottery number printed on the lottery ticket, this version is called “plus fife”, and an extra wager needs to be placed in order to participate. However, the win is always fixed. Frequently players may use their ticket multiple times, so that the need to fill out a new form for every game is eliminated.
The guidelines for Keno vary among regions such as Asia and the US where the game variations are slightly different from the ones outlined above. Players interested in playing Keno should therefore thoroughly check the rules on the casinos website before starting to play. Overall Keno’s popularity can be linked to the fact, that rules are easy to remember.
